Artists United Listening Session at Hyde Park Art Center

Artists United is a Bridge initiative working to strengthen resources, protections, and support systems for creative workers. The program also seeks to support and connect organizations already doing this work, including the Healthcare Alliance for Chicago Musicians, Arts Alliance Illinois, and other groups within the creative-worker support ecosystem. Representatives from some of these organizations will participate in the listening sessions to discuss their services, advocacy, and areas of expertise.

Local artists and creative workers will also present their experiences and perspectives. Through presentations, audience-engagement activities, participatory feedback, and a Q&A, attendees will be invited to share which services, protections, and benefits they would prioritize in a creative workers’ union. The feedback gathered will help shape the continued development of Artists United’s programming, partnerships, infrastructure, and advocacy.
