PEDESTRIAN ACTUALITIES: A Walking Project by Calvin Ringenbach

Based on Ringenbach’s “Pedestrian Actualities of North Ave.,” an experimental film premiered at the Bridge Film & Video Festival in 2023, Bridge has once again paired up with the artist to produce a walking art project based on the film. While the film served as an archivization of North Avenue from Claremont to Damen, shot during the pandemic from September 2021 - March 2022, the walking project will create a trail of QR-codes through which pedestrians walking the same route as depicted in the film will be able to discover, through the timestamped sections of the film linked in the codes, the artists’s history with each place.

ARCHIVED PROJECTS & EDITIONS

Click through the below sections to view photo and video documentation and dozens of digital versions of our coveted special projects and editions of work by artists creating work specifically for Bridge.

These editions were most often distributed either as bound sections, or loosely inserted in the pages of the Bridge Journal. Others, such as our Shoebox series art collections, were offered as stand-alone artist’s editions available for purchase, or as fundraising initiatives. This section is currently under construction, with historical projects being added as time permits.
