Marie-Hélène, my mother, is retiring and takes with her her memories, her anxieties and the mental burden of having raised three children while working full time. As she works her last shift as a home nurse, her thoughts jostle and harmonize in a whirlwind similar to a panic attack.

Director Biography - Héloïse Bargain is a Quebec based documentarist working mostly with archives. She made a first autobiographical short film entitled “La Bouilloire”, which is an essay on sexual violence and a call to overturn the guilty aggressor relationship. In residence at Films de l’Autre, she extends her reflections on gender inequalities with the short film “Maman” which invites spectators to feel for a moment the mental burden of a mother.
