Terpsichore — Dance, Performance Art & Performance Publishing
Terpsichore is Bridge Books’ imprint devoted to dance, performance art, choreography, and the translation of live and time-based practices into print. It provides a publishing platform for artists, choreographers, writers, and researchers working with movement, performance scores, documentation, criticism, archives, and experimental forms of notation. Projects may range from artist books and performance scores to histories, critical texts, photographic documentation, and hybrid publications that preserve or extend ephemeral practices. The imprint treats publishing itself as another site through which performance can be documented, interpreted, circulated, and reimagined.
Importantly, Terpsichore will also publish diagrammatic, choreographic, instructional, and interactionist writing and artwork—work that may function as scores, instructions, diagrams, propositions, systems, prompts, maps, participatory structures, or frameworks for action and encounter. This creates a productive point of connection with Allen’s expanded approach to contemporary poetics, while Terpsichore situates these practices more specifically in relation to performance, interaction, embodiment, and time-based artistic practice.

Diagram
As part of Terpsichore, Diagram will operate as an ongoing periodical pamphlet publication devoted to concentrated, experimental encounters with dance, choreography, performance art, movement, and related writing and visual practices. Rather than functioning as a conventional magazine, each pamphlet can operate as a compact publication in its own right, allowing individual issues to take different forms around artists, themes, performances, scores, conversations, or particular modes of inquiry.
Diagram can publish criticism, interviews, documentation, scores, images, and other performance-oriented material while also providing a recurring venue for diagrammatic, choreographic, instructional, and interactionist writing and artwork. Its pamphlet format should allow the publication itself to remain flexible, economical, collectible, and responsive to the experimental practices Terpsichore is intended to support.
Editorial
Bridge Journal
A project of the artistic collective, unlike the magazine, the Bridge Journal only appears as a hardcover journal until the artistic collective approves its online release. An archive of the work and interests of the Bridge artistic collective, it also represents the efforts of artist members to expand the existing public scholarship in the discipline of their expertise.
Online Magazine
A companion to the print magazine, the Bridge online magazine publishes criticism, interviews, essays, reviews, artist features, and cultural reporting connected to contemporary art, fiction, poetry, performance, publishing, and creative work seasonally from late August to December and late February to June every year. It serves as a living editorial platform for timely writing including reviews and interviews, regional arts coverage, op-eds, essays and ongoing conversations across the cultural field.
Bridge Books
Launched in 2022, Bridge Books was founded with the belief that books are the vascular systems of democracy, delivering the intellectual oxygen required for a body politic to actively, inclusively, effectively self-govern and thrive.
