Bridge Books Bookseller Portal
Order directly. Help sustain independent publishing.

Like most small press indy publishers, all Bridge Books titles can be ordered through the nationwide Ingram ordering system. However, independent publishing needs an economics that supports both the bookseller and the press. For small nonprofit publishers like Bridge, a 40–45% wholesale discount treated as a condition of stocking a book can make that work unsustainable. Printing, applicable taxes, and shipping still have to be paid, often leaving little or nothing to support authors, editorial work, or the next publication (or worse, we owe fees to Ingram!).

Independent bookstores rightly encourage readers to buy directly from them instead of Amazon. We invite booksellers to extend that same principle to independent publishers. Insisting on discounts that a small press cannot absorb can reproduce the economic pressures that buying independently is meant to address. We recognize that bookstores also operate on tight margins; direct purchasing gives us an opportunity to work together on terms grounded in our actual costs.

The Bridge Books Bookseller Portal offers a direct connection to our nonprofit press and access to bookseller pricing through the Bridge website store. By bypassing third-party distribution markups, we can offer best lowest direct-order prices on eligible titles, with additional title-specific discounts detailed in our bookseller rate card. These discounts apply to our direct prices and should be compared with the final cost of ordering through a distributor.

Explore the rate card for eligible books, journals, and other publications, subject to availability. Some titles are already priced at cost and cannot accommodate further discounts. For larger orders or event quantities, contact us to discuss what is possible.

Our bookseller relationships also help bring independent writing and art into local communities through Bridge Magazine distribution, author events, and outreach. Every direct order helps sustain the people and work behind the books you put on your shelves.
